Gwangju Books.

How to create a public space able to diffuse and encourage culture as well as being perceived as “their own” by the citizens? How to envision a cultural park for the population and an iconic attraction for the world?

The volumes symbolically recall a collection of books laying next to each other, while waiting to be read. An iconic image that cannot be mistaken or forget. We call the project “Gwangju books”.

The open arrangement creates an inviting and extroverted building, that dialogs harmonically with its proximity and it is broken down in smaller parts to create a human scale complex of functions.
